Ingredients

  • 2 cans of store-bought cinnamon rolls with icing
  • 4 medium-sized apples Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work great
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped nuts raisins, or caramel sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Open the cans of cinnamon rolls and set aside the icing. Cut each roll into quarters and arrange them in the baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, mix the peeled and chopped apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, melted butter, and vanilla extract. If you're using any optional add-ins, toss them in now.
  • Spoon the apple mixture over the cinnamon roll pieces, making sure to distribute it evenly.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes. Drizzle the reserved icing over the top while it's still warm.

Notes

Baking tip: For an extra gooey center, cover the dish with foil for the first 20 minutes of baking, then remove it to allow the top to brown.
