Ingredients
  

  • 4 slices of bread sourdough, white, or brioche
  • 4 slices of cheese sharp cheddar, Swiss, mozzarella, or a mix
  • 4 slices of bacon thick-cut or regular, as preferred
  • 2 tbsp butter or mayonnaise for spreading on bread

Optional Add-ons:

  • 1 small tomato sliced
  • ½ avocado sliced
  • 2 tbsp caramelized onions
  • 1-2 tsp jalapeños for a spicy twist

Instructions
 

Cook the Bacon

  • Pan-Fry: Start with a cold pan, add bacon, and cook on medium heat until crispy, flipping as needed.
  • Oven-Bake: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C), place bacon on a foil-lined sheet, and bake for 15-20 minutes.
  • Air-Fry: Air-fry at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes for easy cleanup.

Prepare the Bread

  • Spread butter or mayonnaise evenly on one side of each slice of bread for that golden-brown crust.

Layer the Ingredients

  • Place a slice of cheese on the unbuttered side of one bread slice, add two slices of cooked bacon, then top with another slice of cheese.
  • Place the second slice of bread on top with the buttered side facing out.

Grill the Sandwich

  • Preheat a skillet on medium-low heat. Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for 3-5 minutes on each side until the bread is golden and the cheese has melted.
  • Optionally, cover the skillet for a minute to help the cheese melt faster.
