Ingredients

  • 1 8-10 oz wheel of Brie cheese
  • ¼ cup fig jam
  • ¼ cup chopped walnuts or pecans optional
  • 1 tablespoon honey optional
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves optional
  • Crackers sliced baguette, or fresh fruit for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • If your brie came in a wooden box, remove it and unwrap the cheese. Place it back in the box (if using) or in a small baking dish.
  • Score the top of the brie in a crisscross pattern. This helps the jam penetrate the cheese as it bakes.
  • Spread about 1/4 cup of fig jam over the top of the brie. Don't go overboard – you want a nice balance between cheese and jam.
  • If you're using additional toppings like nuts or herbs, sprinkle them over the jam now.
  • For a "naked" brie, simply place it in the oven as is. If you're going for a puff pastry-wrapped version, gently wrap the prepared brie in a sheet of puff pastry before baking.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is soft and gooey when you touch it.
  • Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving – trust me, you don't want to burn your tongue on molten cheese!
