For the Brownie Batter:
- ½ cup 115g unsalted butter
- ¾ cup 150g granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ⅓ cup 40g cocoa powder
- ½ cup 65g all-purpose flour
- ¼ teaspoon salt
For the Cheesecake Batter:
- 8 ounces 225g cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup 50g granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat Oven:Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal. Prepare Brownie Batter:In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, and salt, and mix until smooth. Prepare Cheesecake Batter:In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla extract, and beat until creamy and well combined. Layer Batter:Spread half of the brownie batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Spoon the cheesecake batter on top, spreading it evenly over the brownie batter. Dollop the remaining brownie batter on top of the cheesecake layer. Use a knife or spatula to swirl the two batters together to create a marbled effect. Bake:Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached. Cool and Serve:Allow the cheesecake brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Once cooled, lift the brownies out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into squares and serve. Optional:For added indulgence, drizzle melted chocolate over the cooled brownies before serving.
