Ingredients
  

  • 1 large head green cabbage
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley optional for garnish

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easier cleanup.

Prepare the Cabbage

  • Remove any damaged outer leaves from the cabbage. Place the cabbage on a cutting board and slice it into ¾–1 inch thick steaks. You should get about 4–6 slices, depending on the size of the cabbage.

Season the Cabbage

  • Arrange the cabbage steaks in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Brush both sides of the cabbage slices with olive oil. Sprinkle evenly with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.

Roast the Cabbage

  • Place the baking sheet in the oven and roast the cabbage steaks for 20 minutes, or until the edges begin to turn golden and slightly crispy.

Add the Cheese

  • Remove the cabbage from the oven and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over each steak.
  • Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.

Garnish and Serve

  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired. Serve immediately while warm.
