  • 3 packages 14.4 oz each graham crackers
  • 2 packages 3.4 oz each instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold milk
  • 1 container 8 oz whipped topping, thawed
  • 4 medium apples preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped nuts for garnish pecans or walnuts work well

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the pudding mixture: In a large bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and milk according to package instructions. Fold in the whipped topping until well combined.
  • Layer graham crackers: In a 9x13 inch baking dish, arrange a single layer of graham crackers to cover the bottom.
  • Spread pudding mixture: Spoon about 1/3 of the pudding mixture over the graham crackers, spreading it evenly.
  • Add apples and caramel: Layer thinly sliced apples over the pudding, then drizzle with caramel sauce. Sprinkle with a dash of cinnamon.
  • Repeat layers: Continue layering graham crackers, pudding mixture, apples, and caramel until you've used all ingredients. Aim for 3-4 layers total.
  • Chill and set: Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight if possible. This allows the flavors to meld and the graham crackers to soften.
