Ingredients

  • 1 package 14.3 oz Oreo cookies
  • ½ cup 1 stick unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 package 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 packages 3.4 oz each instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 ¾ cups cold milk
  • 1 container 8 oz frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • Gummy worms optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare the Oreo Crust:
Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until they are finely crushed. Alternatively, you can place them in a resealable plastic bag and crush them using a rolling pin.
In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreo cookies with the melted butter until well combined.
Press the Oreo mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish to form the crust. Use the back of a spoon or a flat-bottomed glass to press the mixture evenly.
  • Prepare the Cream Cheese Layer:
In a separate mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and continue to beat until well combined and smooth.
  • Assemble the Pie:
Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the prepared Oreo crust, making sure to cover the entire surface.
  • Prepare the Chocolate Pudding Layer:
In another mixing bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and cold milk until smooth and thickened, about 2 minutes.
Let the pudding mixture sit for a couple of minutes to thicken further.
  • Layer the Chocolate Pudding:
Pour the prepared chocolate pudding over the cream cheese layer in the pie dish, spreading it out evenly with a spatula.
  • Top with Whipped Topping:
Spread the thawed whipped topping over the chocolate pudding layer, covering it completely.
  • Chill the Pie:
Cover the pie with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
  • Garnish and Serve:
Before serving, garnish the pie with additional crushed Oreo cookies and gummy worms, if desired, to resemble "dirt."
Slice and serve the Oreo Dirt Pie chilled. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Crushing Oreos: To easily crush the Oreo cookies, you can also place them in a resealable plastic bag and crush them using a rolling pin.
  • Make-Ahead: You can prepare the Oreo Dirt Pie a day in advance and refrigerate it overnight. This allows the flavors to meld together and the pie to set properly.
  • Variations: Feel free to customize the pie by using different flavors of pudding mix, such as vanilla or cookies and cream, or adding layers of sliced bananas or chopped nuts for extra texture.
