Ingredients

  • 4 cups broccoli florets fresh or frozen
  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¾ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • teaspoon salt optional, to taste

Optional:

  • pinch of red pepper flakes or paprika for extra flavor

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the bacon

  • Start by cooking the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Once cooled, chop into bite-sized pieces.

Step 2: Steam the broccoli

  • While the bacon cooks, steam the broccoli until bright green and tender-crisp. You can use a steamer basket or microwave method—just avoid overcooking.

Step 3: Make the sauce

  • In the same skillet used for the bacon, remove most of the grease but leave a tablespoon for flavor. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Pour in the cream, stirring constantly. Once it begins to simmer, reduce heat and add the parmesan cheese. Stir until melted and smooth.

Step 4: Combine everything

  • Add the cooked broccoli and chopped bacon to the skillet. Toss everything gently to coat in the sauce. Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Optional: Sprinkle more parmesan on top and broil for 2–3 minutes until bubbly and golden.
