Ingredients

  • 4 slices Cuban bread or French/Italian loaf, about 6 inches each
  • 6 oz 170g thinly sliced turkey breast
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2 oz 56g thinly sliced ham (optional)
  • ¼ cup 60g dill pickles, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 2 teaspoons butter softened

Instructions

  • Prepare the bread:
Slice your Cuban bread lengthwise and lightly butter the outside (trust me on this one!).
  • Layer it up:
Spread mustard on the inside of both bread slices.
Layer turkey, ham (if using), Swiss cheese, and pickles.
  • Press to impress:
Close the sandwich and press it using a sandwich press or a heavy skillet.
Cook until the bread is golden and crispy, and the cheese is melty (about 3-4 minutes per side).
  • Slice and serve:
Cut diagonally and serve immediately while it's hot and crispy!

Notes

Pro tip: Don't overdo it on the mustard or pickles – balance is key!
